ESMO AI: Innovating care pathways together

At Vintura, we believe that collaboration and innovation are the cornerstones of better healthcare. During the ESMO AI & Digital Oncology Congress 2025, we are proud to showcase three impactful cases that demonstrate how we help healthcare organizations and life sciences companies innovating care pathways
  • Case 1: Scaling cancer care excellence globally. Unlocking the full potential of multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to improve oncology outcomes worldwide.
  • Case 2: Improving care for cardiovascular patients. Building collaborative care models that go beyond the pill to deliver measurable improvements in patient recovery.
  • Case 3: Enhancing oncology quality through regional collaboration. Supporting hospitals to unite around shared standards and deliver high-quality cancer care locally.

These cases reflect our commitment to creating scalable, sustainable solutions that improve patient outcomes and strengthen healthcare systems. Explore how we co-create with partners to make a lasting impact.

Case 1: Scaling cancer care excellence globally

Unlocking the full potential of MDTs in oncology care.
Multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) are proven to significantly improve outcomes for oncology patients by enhancing survival rates, accelerating time to treatment, and reducing psychological burden. However, scaling MDTs across institutions remains a challenge due to systemic pressures such as rising cancer incidence, financial constraints, fragmented processes, and unclear roles. A global pharma company approached Vintura with a critical question: How can we optimize and scale MDTs globally, while engaging key opinion leaders to embed collaborative care as a standard in oncology?

Co-creating a scalable model for MDT excellence.
Vintura partnered with that pharma company to design and orchestrate a global initiative that empowered hospitals and healthcare professionals to improve MDT effectiveness. We facilitated cross-MDT collaboration through peer-to-peer platforms, supported evidence co-creation, and enabled benchmarking using tailored tools. The initiative included:

-A validated framework for MDT optimization
-International peer-to-peer exchange platforms
-Co-created scientific publications and whitepapers
-Strategic KOL engagement embedded in MDT roll-out

Vintura’s collaborative care expertise ensured alignment with clinical credibility and strategic goals, supporting implementation, measurement, and scale-up.

Driving global change in cancer care delivery.
The initiative led to the publication of over 20 scientific articles and whitepapers at major global cancer conferences (e.g., ASCO, ESMO, IASLC), promoting a better MDT model. Hospitals worldwide now use the framework to assess and improve MDT performance, share best practices, and embed collaborative care into clinical workflows.

For patients, this means faster, more coordinated, and psychologically supportive care.
For the healthcare system, it establishes a scalable model for collaborative oncology care.

The pharma partner continues to drive impact by expanding the initiative to new regions and tumor types, further embedding MDT excellence as a global standard.

Case 2: Improving care for cardiovascular patients

Transforming care delivery beyond the pill.
A leading biotechnology company aimed to evolve from being a pharmaceutical supplier to a true collaborative care partner. Their ambition was to improve outcomes for patients recovering from heart attacks by increasing adherence to clinical guidelines and preventing repeat events.
The key question for Vintura: How can we help optimize cardiovascular care pathways across hospitals in Europe—while creating scalable, measurable impact and positioning the company as a trusted partner in care?

Building networks and dashboards for lasting change
Vintura co-created a collaborative care model with 25 hospitals across five European countries. Together, we optimized local cardiovascular care pathways, developed hospital-level dashboards with intermediate endpoints, and established national and European networks for performance benchmarking and shared learning. Deliverables included::

-Optimized care pathways tailored to each hospital
-Outcomes dashboards to track and improve care
-Peer networks for continuous improvement and policy shaping
-Strategic positioning of the pharma partner as a driver of care excellence

Scalable improvements in cardiovascular care.
The initiative led to measurable improvements in patient outcomes, stronger collaboration across care lines, and more consistent guideline adherence. Hospitals reported enhanced internal coordination, unified treatment protocols, and better data systems for monitoring care.

Patients benefited from improved follow-up, including home monitoring for high-risk individuals.
The healthcare system gained a scalable model for care improvement, supported by shared dashboards and peer networks.

Next steps include handing over the approach to local partners to further scale impact with minimal additional resources to ensure long-term sustainability and broader reach.

Case 3: Strengthening oncology care through regional collaboration

Building a unified approach to quality cancer care
National standards and guidelines define how hospitals should organize multidisciplinary oncology care to ensure the best outcomes for patients. Hospitals that fail to meet these standards risk losing contracts with health insurers, which can lead to fragmented care and force patients to travel further for treatment.

Three hospitals in one region faced this challenge and approached Vintura with a critical question:

How can we collaborate effectively to maintain and improve oncology care quality, while safeguarding access for patients and meeting national requirements?

Co-creating a shared vision and roadmap
Vintura partnered with medical specialists and hospital leadership to design a collaborative model that would strengthen care delivery across the region. Together, we explored the value and necessity of collaboration, identified areas where joint efforts could create synergy, and defined clear objectives and criteria for success. This process included:

  • A shared vision and ambition for regional oncology care
  • Practical opportunities for synergy beyond individual hospital capabilities
  • A roadmap for implementation based on trust and mutual benefit

Driving sustainable regional impact
The initiative fostered stronger relationships between hospitals, creating a positive environment for collaboration. While full integration is still in progress, the foundations are in place: growing trust, clear goals, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care together.

For patients, this means continued access to excellent oncology care close to home.
For the healthcare system, it establishes a model for regional collaboration that balances quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Next steps include deepening cooperation and expanding shared initiatives to further improve care quality across the region.
