An international company active in DNA diagnostics was seeking to strengthen in position in an attractive growth market. One of its options was to take over another innovative and fast-growing player in that sector. We worked intensively with the project team to develop a strategic justification for the acquisition and to outline an integration strategy. Our market analysis and prognostic models helped clarify the situation, and we also compiled the actual bid jointly with the client. This was based upon a DCF valuation model with multiple scenarios. And our support extended to due diligence, with the organization of working sessions for relevant parties and the construction of advanced financial models to calculate potential synergies.

In the end, the asking price for the company was found to be too high and so the acquisition plan was dropped. Despite this, our client was very satisfied with our support throughout the process and intends to use the methods and models we developed in future takeover operations.
